It depends on how much sun you get, how much view you want and how much privacy you need. 1% to 3% cuts more glare; 5% to 10% keeps more view and brightness. We'll help you decide at your estimate.

Not fully. At night, when your lights are brighter than outside, people can see in. For privacy after dark, choose blackout for that room.

Yes. Solar fabrics block up to 99% of UV rays, depending on the fabric and openness, which helps slow fading.

Yes. Cutting screen glare is one of the main reasons NYC customers choose solar shades.

The fabric blocks light completely. A thin line of light can show at the edges. For near-total darkness, choose side channels or layer with curtains.

No. "Blackout" describes how much light the fabric blocks, not its color. They come in a range of colors, including white and grey.

Yes, with an upgraded motor. Our starting motors work with a remote. For app, voice or smart-home control, we offer upgraded motors, priced in your quote.

Inside mount looks clean and built-in when the window has enough depth. Outside mount covers the frame and lets less light in around the edges. We'll advise when we measure.

Yes. Every shade is custom-cut to the nearest 1/8 inch, up to 120 inches wide.

Yes. Tell us your building's requirements when you book, and we'll have the paperwork ready before installation.

Dust regularly with a microfiber duster or a soft vacuum brush. Spot-clean gently with mild soap and water, and avoid harsh chemicals.

Our shades come with a 10-year limited warranty. Motors are covered for 3 years. Full details are included with your order.
